General accountant

As a General Accountant you will join our dynamic and international finance team in our head office in Mechelen. You will get an overview of the entire accounting process and get the chance to expand your skills by learning more about our international processes.

What will be your tasks as a general accountant?

• Managing the balance sheet and profit & loss accounts
• Handling accounts payable, vendor management, and payments
• Processing bank statements and ensuring accurate reconciliations
• Performing account consolidation and reconciliation
• Ensuring timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings
• Preparing VAT/CIT declarations and statutory reports
• Delivering monthly financial reports and analysis for other departments
• Supporting internal and external audits

What do we require from a general accountant?

• A degree in Accounting (or related field) and 2–3 years of experience in a general accounting role
• Solid understanding of accounting principles (e.g. Belgian GAAP) and a strong willingness to learn more
• Familiarity with VAT/CIT rules and non-deductible costs is a plus
• An analytical mindset with a proactive, ownership-driven attitude
• Detail-oriented and proficient in Excel
• Strong communication skills in English
